Design

With a background in both rough construction and finely finished woodwork, I am trying to apply that experience to the art of home building and renovation. In each piece of furniture, you consider how the grain will affect not just the structural integrity; but also how it will affect the visual appearance of the piece. Also, the customer is highly considered when designing a rocker or a custom desk for the office. It is designed for beauty and function. No matter what your budget is for a project, I feel that these ideas can be applied to your project. A home at every level should “fit” the owner. I believe these principals can be transferred to the modern home at no extra cost-this should not be an option. A house that’s built from an artists’ perspective could be a house that fits its owner like a fine rocker. The best and most award winning design are worth nothing if you won’t enjoy it each day. The owner is the most important consideration in any project.

Sustainability

Rising Sun works hard to consider the environment with the latest “green” technology and sustainable design in every project. Most importantly, every home should be sustainable to its owner. Basically, this philosophy starts with a tightly built and detailed exterior with properly installed windows, doors, and insulation. This will lower the cost of ownership for the client and it conserves resources for the environment. Well built and comfortable homes with quality materials, classic design and construction last longer and remain contemporary so they keep material out of the dumpster for unnecessary remodels. When possible, we do try to use local, recycled, or otherwise “green” products regularly.

Accountability

For us, each job is not just a singular job; it is the first many jobs you could hire us to do. The talent that exists here in our company and in our subs is top quality. We stand by our work 100%; customer satisfaction is one of our top priorities. We wish to bring words like “trust”, “service”, “craftsmanship”, “proportion”, and “scale” back into the builder’s lexicon. We think that craftsmanship and design that’s unique and distinct should not be considered an “option”, its standard on all our projects.
